A. Allied Waste drivers will collect your extra cardboard if it is cut up/folded, sized to fit in your cart and placed next to your full recycle cart. Drivers will empty the cart first, then place the additional cardboard in the cart and empty again.

A: Yes. There is an additional charge for commercial customers. Residential customers in Milpitas receive unlimited curbside service for household trash, although large, "bulky" items have a charge for collection. Please call 408-432-1234 to schedule an extra collection.

A: No. State law classifies paint cans as hazardous household wastes. As a result, paint must be disposed of through the Santa Clara County Hazardous Waste Program. Call (408) 299-7300 or visit www.hhw.org.

A: Allied Waste can pick up your refrigerator or any other bulky item for an additional charge. Please call us at (408) 432-0444 if you would like to schedule a pickup.

A: Please have your cans at the curb by 6 a.m.

A: For those rare times that Allied Waste does not pick up a customer's garbage, the primary reasons are:

• It was not left at the curb by 6 a.m. or our driver did not have access to your cans;
• The cans were too heavy, many times loaded with rock, dirt or concrete. We usually send the driver back the same or next day after we receive your call.

A. Each resident is given one recycle and yardwaste container. Additional yardwaste may be placed in your own 32-gallon can clearly marked "Yard Waste." Extra recycling may be placed in paper bags next to the recycling cart.
Garbage carts may be rented from Allied Waste for $2.76 per month, additional garbage carts may be ordered if necessary.
